Meet Dr. Tong
With more than 20 years of clinical dental experience, Dr. James Tong has been practicing pediatric, orthodontic and family dentistry in Montgomery County for more than 10 years.

Dr. Tong became interested in dentistry at an early age. Dr. Tong’s father was a chemistry professor at a medical school and his mother was a periodontist. As a boy, Dr. Tong was an outstanding student, but he developed a life-threatening heart condition that forced him to drop out of school. He studied hard at home and in 1977, he was admitted to the West China University School of Medical Sciences, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Stomology, and later, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Orthodontics.
After relocating to the United States in 1991, Dr. Tong earned a specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Maryland Dental School, where he currently serves as a clinical faculty member in department of Orthodontics. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, the American Society of Dentistry for Children, and the Maryland Academy of Dentists.
Dr. Tong is a leader in his dental practice and the community. In 2008, he received the All Chinese Award, and he has been recognized as a “Top Dentist” by the Consumer’s Research Council every year since 2006. Dr. Tong also been featured in several magazines that have been distributed around the world including American Dream and Chinese Fortune.
In addition to his work and continuing education, Dr. Tong enjoys music, art, and swimming. He is an accomplished violinist and photographer. Dr. Tong lives in Gaithersburg with his wife, who is also a dentist, and their two children.

Dr. Bhushan
Dr. Bhushan is in our Clarksburg office. She graduated in 1998 in India with a Masters Degree in Prothodontics. She then continued her education at Boston University and graduated in 2005. In her free time she enjoys sketching and drawing.

Dr. Tong and his staff are committed to dental excellence with a focus on quality patient relationships. Our friendly and highly-trained staff, along with Dr. Tong’s warm and caring manner, will make you and your entire family feels right at home.
We are focused on professional training. All of our staff members attend monthly trainings on a wide range of topics. Staff members also attend annual professional conferences, often as a group, which contributes to the camaraderie among our highly skilled dental professionals. Many professional development trips include time for site seeing. Our team works together, learns together and plays together, and the resulting spirit of teamwork is obvious to our patients.
